What does KYC mean?

KYC is an acronym that stands for “Know Your Customer”. The procedure involves mandatory verification of the user's data with an identity card, utility bills, insurance, and other documents that can be used to confirm the name and address. Usually, the identity verification procedure is required by cryptocurrency exchanges during the registration process. If the KYC procedure is not completed, many functions of the exchange will not be available to the user.
