Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Zeekr is collaborating with Minima to develop blockchain-enabled charging infrastructure.

Collaboration for Decentralized Charging

Chinese electric car company Zeekr and Minima, a decentralized blockchain network, are joining forces to revolutionize charging station access. The integration of Minima's technology allows Zeekr wallbox owners to share their chargers through a tokenized booking system. This innovation aims to bridge infrastructure gaps by enabling EV owners to contribute unused charging slots.

Blockchain-Secure Access Control

Minima's blockchain network generates secure access tokens, ensuring only authorized users can charge while maintaining user privacy. A unique feature is its offline functionality, allowing transactions via Bluetooth connections even without internet, guaranteeing uninterrupted charging.

Expanding Blockchain Adoption in Automotive

Zeekr's initiative follows similar experiments by other Chinese automakers. In 2018, BYD planned to use VeChainThor blockchain for carbon tracking in its vehicles, demonstrating the industry's early interest in blockchain technology for large-scale vehicle data management.
